John P. Hill
John started officiating lacrosse in 1975 right out of Boston College. He worked at it steadily doing more and better High School games. John was selected to do his first College NCAA game in 1989. Since that time John has worked 17 NCAA tournament games, including two Division 2 and one Division 3 National Championship games. In 1992 John was selected to officiate the Under-19 World Lacrosse Championships held in Long Island, NY. In 1994 John was selected, from a pool of over 60 officials, to officiate and be a member of Team USA at the World Games held that year in Manchester, England. In 1998, John became the Chairperson of the Training and Certification committee for US Lacrosse. For the past 8 years, John has run the LAREDO Referee development program held in conjunction with the Texas A & M tournament, and the Vail Lacrosse Shoot-out. He has trained over 120 officials from 37 states at these clinics. John has been training Clinicians throughout the United States since 1993. In 2000, John went back to Manchester, England to train the European Officials in 3-man mechanics for the International game. John has been the US Lacrosse Collegiate Officials Committee District Governor for District #1 since 1990. ZLAX Referee Camps started in 1999 and are growing bigger and better every year. |
